Reading Room: The Prose Poetry of Emily Carson

The spiritual teachings offered by Emily Carson at her sittings and retreats are always recorded and transcribed.  The result is a body of spiritual/inspirational prose poetry that expresses, in a contemporary voice, the truths found in the ancient wisdom traditions, particularly Buddhism, Raja Yoga, Taoism, and Advaita Vedanta.  These prose poems are meditations on our most compelling spiritual questions, sometimes reading like dharma talks and sometimes like prayers.  Among these works, you’ll find writings addressing the nature of mind, divine love, true justice, and death.  We hope the poetry and wisdom you find here inspires and renews you as only the truth can.

Namaste,
The Sound of Rain
