Meditations Second Sunday Silent Meditation Gatherings in Portland, Oregon combine two zazen-style sitting periods with an informal opportunity, mid-way, to ask questions of Emily about meditation or spiritual practice. The invitation here is to pause all outward activity to attend exclusively to the subtleties of your internal experience. Any meditation practice is welcome (though none is required) as long as it is silent and still.
Retreats Daylong Retreats with Emily provide small groups of participants an atmosphere of honesty and surrender in which to explore themselves in relation to a particular topic, such as the fear of dying, the mind, or nourishment.Emily begins each retreat with an opening talk and then facilitates the process of each retreatant through a day of self-discovery. Daylong Silent Meditation Retreats, held entirely in silence, create a supportive environment for individual explorations of stillness.Silent sitting, with frequent breaks to stretch and walk, is complemented by at least one period of discussion with Emily.Residential Weekend Retreats combine satsang-type sittings, facilitated group sessions, and meditation into a weekend of introspection and renewal.Emily’s 2012 Weekend Retreat will be at beautiful Mount Shasta in Northern California.
